Many moms know this:
As soon as the baby is in the carrier or sling, it smells the scent of the mother and gets hungry. This is wonderful - because carrying and cuddling, generally the close skin contact with the little darling, promotes the formation of the happiness hormone oxytocin and thus also the milk production.
However, many mums ask themselves: can I breastfeed my baby in a carrier at all? Yes, you can! In fact, you can do it very discreetly and "to go", so to speak.
The important thing is that breastfeeding works well. Mum and baby should be a well-rehearsed team and have practised in a discreet environment at home. Carrying in a sling or carrier should also not be a novelty. And then you're ready to go.
With a tied sling, such as a wrap-around cross carrier, you can loosen the knot a little at first. This will cause the baby to sink down about 10 centimetres further. When the baby's head is level with the nipple, the optimum height has been reached.
Then you can pull the side strands a little over the baby's head (not on both sides, but only on the side that is to be covered). This gives you a bit of privacy, even if mum is sipping her cappuccino in the café.
It is very similar in the KOKADI Baby Carrier:
The hip belt and shoulder straps are also loosened until the child is in the optimal position and then tightened again at the individual optimal height. And off you go!
Important: After breastfeeding, you should bring your baby back to the optimal height (head-kiss height) to avoid tension on your part. The general rule is: the more tightly tied, the more comfortable the weight distribution. Nothing now stands in the way of coffee and breast milk "to go".
